Shed-roofs have a single slope. They are identified as skillion, mono-pitched, or lean-to roofs globally. They are suitable for industrial sheds, residences, patios, terraces, etc.

Shed roofs are budget-friendly and grant clear-span properties at half of the conventional roof weight. They are quick to assemble and thus, lower construction costs. Though, shed roofs can be assembled with different materials, steel tube framing and steel roofing sheets appear modern and are economically serviceable.

The Modern Shed Roof Design

Shed roofs replace the attic space and propagate luxurious, multifaceted clerestory windows along roof sides for light as in the Bent Annexe by Bent architecture. Steel shed roofs also minimize palettes to make houses contemporary as in the Lincoln Street Project by Moontower design studio. A blackened steel shed-roof design that exposes corrugated metal walls is preferred for the project.
