Tubes SBU, a Profit Centre of Tata Steel Limited, is a leading steel tube producer in India, growing at a CAGR of 8%. The SBU, promoted in 1954 as 'The Indian Tube Company' by Tata Steel in collaboration with M/s. Stewarts and Lloyds of U.K., was merged with Tata Steel in 1985.

Subsequent to the Corus acquisition in 2007, Tata Steel Group's tube capacity has increased by 1.2 Million MT making it the 7th largest manufacturer of welded tubes in the world.
