In continuation with the initiative of being a market leader in the Tubes industry and to evolve the concept of customer centricity, Tubes SBU launched a unique customer connect program 'RISHTEY' from 1st. of Dec 2010 which would encompass the entire workforce of the SBU and bring them closer to the customer. This program was launched with special preview for all officers and UCMs of Tubes SBU on 26th Nov 2010 at Jamshedpur in presence of Executive-In-Charge-Tubes and Chief Marketing & Sales-Tubes SBU.
'Rishtey', as the name suggests is aimed to build stronger bridges of win-win relationship between the entire workforce of the strategic business unit with customers through 'theme' based events to be conducted on a monthly basis. The theme for Dec 2010 and Jan 2011 turned out to be “Know your customer” and as the program goes ahead their will be more themes revolving around 'Due date performance', 'Complaint resolution', 'Customer satisfaction' etc.
During the 'theme months', SBU plans to invite key customers to Jamshedpur Works for interaction with work force as well as conduct various interactive and informative events which will enable workforce to develop customer centric culture and achieve greater customer satisfaction.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region had organised ‘Nirmaan– Designing the Future’, a B2B and B2C International Conference and Exhibition from 29th October 2010 to 1st.Nov 2010 at Milan Mela Trade Fair Grounds, Kolkata. Nirmaan aims to provide a unique platform for the Architecture, Building, Construction and Design Industry to interact with the entire community under one roof.
Tata Structura and Tata Tiscon, two flagship brands of Tata Steel had participated in the said exhibition and conference and had also put up a joint stall at the mentioned venue.
In his welcome address, Ranaveer Sinha, Deputy Chairman, CII Eastern Region said, “India is growing at a fast pace in infrastructure development and we need further innovation techniques, enhanced creativity and better designs for building a robust infrastructure for the future.”
Mr. Kulvin Suri, Chief Marketing & Sales, Tubes SBU, Tata Steel Ltd. had also participated in a panel discussion, “The City In Evolution: Solving the Jigsaw”, along with other eminent personalities, Mr. Dipankar Sinha, Director General Town Planning, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Mr. Pradeep Sureka, Chairman Credai Bengal to name a few.
